Last week I got to hang out with Marja Liisa from Okko. She is doing super sustainable pieces for public (and private) spaces. She showed new pieces from Swedish design stars like Carina Seth Anderson and newly graduated Kun-Sik Choi.

Most of her new things are made of peat. The material is questioned as being a sustainable material so I focus with pictures here from her collection made of hemp. And hemp is a super sustainable material. More hemp, please.

I love the artistic - and sound absorbent - pieces.

Public spaces, museums and sustainability. Fotografiska renovated their meeting space and used pieces from some of our Swedish most interesting sustainable brands. The lamps are from @enkeiofficial and tables from @itg.studio. I also know that @vitra is using recycled plastics in their pink chairs.

Nice space. And sustainable.

Mindcraft is the Danish platform for innovative design and craft. They opened their new exhibition on September 27 and will stay open for a month.

From a sustainable perspective I am intrigued by the chairs from Lærke Ryom. They chairs talk about upholstery. Can you make something without glue? Also build in a function so that you can repair and recycle.

The first chair is with zippers and the second with bows.

Innovative and nice looking.

Can you build a sustainable museum? Somehow Swedis

Can you build a sustainable museum? Somehow Swedish Architectural and Design Museum (ArkDes) have tried.

During a year they closed and made inventory to see what spare materials were there from previous exhibitions. The new layout is fully made of recycled and upcycled materials. Displays, tables, podiums etc are all made of old disguarded materials from previous years. Everything is reused - except the curtains and wheels on tables.

Super progressive and interesting. Now I hope they fill it with interesting content.

Last week we were sniffing out nice sustainable projects at London Design Festival. At Material Matters we found designer Rosy Napper. They make products out of recycled ash. The material ReCinder is discarded ceramic waste and white ash. Works perfectly for lamps and lighting because it is translucent. Rosy Napper also make glaze out of food waste from restaurants for new plates. Check them out.
